Broadchurch or The Fall are far from being the only british crime series wortch watching. We already wrote about Hinterland, where we recommended also What Remains, a favorite of mine.
But recently I discovered the miniseries Place of Execution, based upon the book of the same name by Val McDermid, author of Wire in the Blood, that also inspired another british series.
Place of Execution tells the story of a journalist who wants to shot a documentary about the vanishing of a young girl and further investigation in a small english town fourty five years ago.
The arrival of the journalist will trigger a series of events, involving the village inhabitants, specially the ones who witnessed the inquiry.
Place of Execution has all the ingredients that we love in a good crime series: a vanishing, an obsessed cop, a lot of secrets from the past, and one of my favorites: old photographies, with hidden clues...
And all these wrapped in the expected british savoir-faire. A must-see for crime series lovers.
